Hello, my name is Amanda and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with 10 years of experience working with people in behavioral health. Individuals who are motivated to make life changes but feel stuck. Stuck because they do not have the tools, stuck in their past, stuck because they have yet to process life's events. Specifically, I have worked with adults struggling with substance use disorders, at-risk teenagers and their families, and the mental health struggles that go hand in hand with this.
I empower change alongside the individual by creating a therapeutic relationship, personal, effective, outpatient psychological care. I provide a neutral ground to adolescents and adults to create a trusting and safe environment in which allows clients to find their own strengths, acceptance, and empowerment. I am confident the support you are seeking, is attainable by taking this first step. Counseling takes vulnerability, motivation, and accountability. I can help you with this!
Along with being a Counselor, I am a mom of two boys, a wife, and an Idaho native who has always been drawn to helping others. My earliest memory of this began when I volunteered as a young child, helping people in our local community get back on their feet, through acts of service. I have a passion for what I do and I enjoy watching people foster their own life goals and seeing their personal growth.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, traveling, and practicing my own self care; because I cannot pour empathy, positive self-regard, and compassion into someone else's cup if my cup is empty.
I help individuals experiencing Depression & Anxiety and various
life transitions. I enjoy working with all adults and adolescent/young adult females (16+ years old.)
My focus is to help heal, energize, and help you become aware of your inner strengths by helping you evaluate your life dimensions in a holistic way, To help you find your own independence, in which allows you to lead your own life again. My approach is person centered and humanistic, along with using CBT & DBT skills, as each person is unique and vibrant in their own way.
"Going to a therapist when you're feeling anxious, sad, overwhelmed, or just want someone to talk to, should be as normal as going to the doctor when you have the flu." - J.B.
Expectations will vary from person to person. I will support you with this, along your journey and towards your goals. I can help you with your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be, helping you find vibrancy.
